PURPOSE:

To promote AOTA Annual Conference attendance of VOTA members.

DESCRIPTION:

One scholarship in the amount of the AOTA member rate for conference registration will be made available for each AOTA Annual Conference

ELIGIBILITY:

VOTA members with current membership

HOW TO APPLY:

• Interested applicants to apply to the VOTA board in essay format, 500 words or less, including the following information:

  • Reasons for attending the AOTA Annual Conference
  • Explanation of why you should be selected for the scholarship
  • Description of your enthusiasm for the profession
  • A clear plan explaining how you will use the information gained by attending the AOTA Annual Conference to assist you in advancing Occupational Therapy in the state of Vermont

Applications are to be mailed to the VOTA Office.

PROCESS:

• Applications must be postmarked by December 31st of the calendar year preceding the conference
• Applications will be reviewed by the Board at the board meeting following receipt of the application
• Checks will be mailed to scholarship recipients once the Board has received proof of attendance (a copy of certificate of attendance)
• Scholarship recipients will provide a 150 word submission to the VOTA Newsletter within 2 months following the AOTA Annual Conference
• Scholarship recipients will be invited to present at a Board meeting and at annual conference
• Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Board
• Board members are not eligible for the scholarship
• Award recipients are not eligible for 2 years following receipt of the scholarship
